I’m Doctor Luz Escobil, I work at Tropical Disease Foundation.

Barangay Microscopy centers were set up, it was very heartening to see community health volunteers becoming equipped on such a seemingly technical thing, being equipped with such a skill, because you would think that only medical technologists could actually diagnose malaria. But we have seen barangay microscopists who are actually really good. Because there is a validation system and they have really gotten very good grades.
